Windows Central Staff

Zac Bowden, Senior Editor, Windows Ecosystem

Zac joined the Windows Central team in 2016, and his primary objective is to bring you exclusive coverage into the world of Windows on PCs, tablets, and more. He started out writing about leaked Windows 8 builds back in 2011, which eventually led to creating a popular "build walkthrough" video series on YouTube that explored upcoming features Microsoft had yet to announce.

He's also an avid collector of rare devices, as well as unreleased or canceled prototype devices from Microsoft. He's one of few people in the world who owns a Surface table in his home, uses a Surface Mini for note-taking, and at one point had a Lumia McLaren and Microsoft Band 3 on the go as his daily phone and smartwatch.

Self-professed geek, Rebecca Spear, is one of Windows Central's gaming editors with a focus on gaming handhelds, PC gaming, and laptops. When she isn't checking out the latest titles on Xbox Game Pass, PC, ROG Ally, or Steam Deck; she can be found digital drawing with a Wacom tablet. She's written thousands of game guides, previews, interviews, features, and hardware reviews over the last few years. If you need information about anything gaming-related, her articles can help you out. She also loves testing game accessories and any new tech on the market. Drawing tablets and drawing programs like Adobe Fresco and Photoshop are among her chief interests. You can follow her @rrspear on X (formerly Twitter).

When away from electronics, she loves taking her corgi, Penny, out to the river to go swimming and is always up for a game of volleyball. Otherwise, you'll most often find her curled up with a fantasy or sci-fi novel as her cats purr on her lap. She also loves attending comic conventions while cosplaying as her favorite video game characters. Her house is filled with gaming collectibles and posters and she's always on the lookout for more.

Cale Hunt, Staff Writer, Tech

Cale Hunt brings to Windows Central more than eight years of experience writing about laptops, PCs, accessories, games, and beyond. If it runs Windows or in some way complements the hardware, there’s a good chance he knows about it, has written about it, or is already busy testing it.

Cale has published hundreds of reviews on Windows Central, and he has a clear understanding of what separates worthwhile products from those that are best avoided.

This allows him to efficiently curate buying guides and product advice, giving readers a no-nonsense look at the options that will best suit their needs.

When he isn’t in his office writing, tinkering with tech, or gaming, Cale enjoys playing acoustic guitar (he’s a sucker for Bluegrass music), reading novels, tending the garden, and providing his two cats some much-needed attention.

Samuel started working for Windows Central and its sister sites in July 2019. While he primarily handles news, guides, previews, reviews, and editorials, he also does original reporting.

If he’s not writing something, he’s off playing video games, spending time with his pets, exercising, or reading. While it’s probably easier to point out the genres he doesn’t enjoy, he has a particular interest in real-time strategy, role-playing games, and big-budget horror titles.

Jennifer Young, Contributor, Gaming

Jennifer Young

Jen is a contributor to all things gaming at Windows Central, whether that be news, reviews, or just finding the best deals for our readers. Jen’s writing experience spans from working for a UK parenting forum, a dodgy Blogspot beauty blog, and allegedly some trolling back in the days of MSN Groups.

Her main platform of choice is Xbox, but she will play anywhere she can shake a sword or shoot a crossbow. Favorite games are Diablo, Dragon Age, Monster Hunter and Dark Souls and generally anything where you can stick a pointy stick in a demon. When not playing games, she'll be found watching horror or scrolling Henry Cavill’s Instagram account.
